Locations

Gujarat

Considered the Jewel of Western India, Gujarat has a rich history and culture that originated from the Indus Valley Civilization and evolved through centuries of trade with western lands and changing dynasties.

Volunteer Requirements

In order to volunteer in Gujarat, students must have a basic understanding of how to speak in Gujarati or Hindi.

Mumbai

One of Asia’s most bustling cities, Mumbai is the financial and entertainment capital of India.

Volunteer Requirements

There is no language requirement to apply to our Mumbai location. Volunteers will teach students spoken English and vocational training.

Hyderabad

One of India’s most iconic cities, Hyderabad is known for its food, culture, and creative architecture.

Volunteer Requirements

In order to volunteer in Hyderabad, students must have a basic understanding of how to speak in Telugu or Hindi.

Delhi

Delhi is capital city of the largest democracy in the world and hosts three world heritage sites - Red Fort, Qutab Minar and Humayun's Tomb. Modern day architectures and infrastructure are juxtaposed with old world markets and historical landmarks in this bustling city.

Volunteer Requirements

There is no language requirement to volunteer in Delhi.

Who can apply?

Students who are currently enrolled in high school or college.

1. An application should be started, and the location is selected based on their interest and language proficiency qualifications within the application. You will have the chance to pick the package you want during registration.

2. Students should complete and submit their application electronically through the portal on our website by December 2nd, 2017 for Early Decision and January 20th, 2019 for Regular Decision.

3. Uplift Humanity will provide a decision on the application by December 15th, 2018 for applications submitted by the early deadline and January 20th, 2019 for the regular deadline submissions

4. If the applicant is accepted into our summer program, they must complete the registration packet and provide payment electronically by January 6th, 2019 for Early Decision applicants and by February 24th, 2017 for Regular Decision applicants.

5. Accepted students are asked to attend an in person orientation on May 5th, 2019 @11AM EDT to obtain further detailed information about their specific volunteer program. For those who are unable to attend the in person orientation are asked to attend the virtual orientation on May 8th, 2019 @8PM EDT.

A Typical Day Volunteering
at Uplift Humanity

9 AM Volunteers wake up and are required to report to breakfast

10 AM Volunteers report to common areas to begin prepping for teaching day

12 PM Lunch is served in the housing facility

1 PM Volunteers travel to juvenile facility/orphanage for teaching

6 PM Volunteers return back to the housing facility for dinner

8 PM Volunteers engage in social activities for the rest of the 

What We Teach

Spoken English / ESL

Basic spoken English to empower them to be more comfortable in their studies and future employment.

Life & Behavioral Skills

Teaching students skills ranging from self esteem development to anger management to equip them to be prepared for the real world.
